Reception Invite
If you’ve been sent this link, we’d love to have you at our very intimate post-ceremony party at Cafe Mondo from 5.30pm-11pm.
Where is the venue?
Cafe Mondo is in Camberwell at 42 Peckham Road. Nearest train stations are Denmark Hill or, at a push, Peckham Rye. It’s also an easy bus from Brixton or Elephant and Castle.
What does the day involve?
Guests are welcome in Cafe Mondo from 5.30pm where there’ll be a mortadella hedgehog and a bucket of pet nat. From 6-8 we’ll be doing food and speeches. 8-11 is dancing: all outside areas close at 10pm unless you’re smoking out front.
What should I do in Camberwell beforehand?
Great question! The area is a favourite of ours and full of fun escapades. You could have breakfast at Toad, go to the South London Art Gallery, look round Lala Books for a new read, or even have a steam at the Camberwell Community Sauna in Ruskin Park. Need lunch? We love FM Mangal, Silk Road, The Kerfield Arms, Falafel & Shawarma, or The Camberwell Arms. If you fancy a drink before 5.30 the area is rife with great venues: try The Peckham Pelican, The Grove House Tavern, The Camberwell or Kerfield Arms, or Veraison Wines.
Dietaries and drinks
Our sandwich selection will include vegan and meat options, and there’ll also be sides and desserts. Any specific dietaries we need to be aware of, please let us know when you RSVP.
We’ll be putting a sizeable amount behind the bar which will cover wine, beer and non-alcoholic drinks of any kind - if you fancy one of the (delicious) cocktails, you’ll have to shell out yourself. If you want to buy us a round of shots, that's also true - but you will be hailed as a local hero.
What happens at 11?
You tell us! We’ll probably book Ubers to a nearby pub that’s open late (we’re speaking to a couple - current candidates include The Bear, fittingly, or The White Horse in Brixton) - we’ll keep people posted.
Can I bring my children, pets, or other loved ones?
We love all of the little ones in our lives - however Cafe Mondo is a pretty cosy space, and parents will struggle to fit buggies or find space they need in the venue, so we think it’s best for children to miss out on the party of the year. Similarly, pets or other dependents would not work in the space, so please leave them at home.
The event is very small, so unless we’ve invited someone they won’t be accommodated for space-wise, food-wise, or drinks-wise. If any of this is a problem, please send us a private message - everything can be a dialogue!
Gifts?
We won’t have a registry, but we would LOVE your support organising our dream honeymoon to Japan. The link for donations is here.
